about

This was in my archive already, and is about the craft and art created by some of my favourite artistic women. Juliet is Juliet Fleming, a Bristol-based potter whose 'dishes of fishes' so delight me. Artist Terry Burke, and ceramicist Sarah Jordan, are also represented here, and I have only performed this song, I think, AT the Totterdown Arts trail which (in this version) I namecheck in the lyric. I didn't write it with that little detail included...

If you get to be in Totterdown, Bristol, during the art trail - 'Front Room' project - then go and support some wonderful craftspeople, and if you find yourself looking at a spiral pottery street or a dish of fishes, you're probably at Juliet's house.

about

Talis Kimberley UK

"I'm a songwriter and singer; my songs are spun from folklore and history, stirred well with a hazel wand and served with cake. I'll sing you ravens and bones and the story behind the story, I'll sing you bread and apples, ghosts and knitting, and bring you home with a pocketful of feathers and hope"
